This chart shows what % of players in the selected item level range include each engraving in their build.
You can change the item level range in the top menu.
2a. What is the stat priority for my build?
Click a class in the left panel to see detailed class information including stat priority.
2b. Will my build fall off late game?
Also on the class info screen, the red meters show the number of players using that build as a proportion of all DPS at low, medium, and high item levels.
2c. Which classes share major engravings?
The class information screen also shows which classes use engravings your build also uses.
This information could help you if you wanted to play alts that can all benefit from the same legendary book..
3a. What level should I use my engravings at?
Click a row to see the level breakdown. Orange bar: level 3. Purple bar: level 2. Blue bar: level 1.
3b. How expensive will my build be?
Gear with class engravings with their appropriate stat is the most expensive in the game.
Transformation builds (Demonic Impulse Shadowhunter, Evolution Scouter) and Surge Blade can get away with one to two gems and few tripods, making them very inexpensive.
If using the class engraving at level 1 is an option (Combat Readiness Gunlancer, Peacemaker Gunslinger), it's going to be relatively cheap.
If the class engraving needs to be level 3, most players end up having to buy the legendary book.
Builds that need the second class engraving as well (Barrage Artillerist, Time to Hunt Gunslinger, Summoner) are the most expensive.
4. Is now a good time to buy the legendary book for X engraving?
Click an engraving to see its price on the Korean server (left) versus NA/EU (right).
(the NA/EU amount is an approximation, it may differ from the price on your server)
5. What are my options if I don't want to use Grudge or Cursed Doll?
Grudge is so popular in KR for a few reasons:
Culture / stigma
High price keeps new players who can't get it out of public groups
Engravings are multiplicative with each other so the damage difference of 20% vs 15% becomes significant once you have 4-5 engravings.
Right now, we have 2-3 so this isn't an issue.
There are plenty of good-enough engravings for every class that you don't need to touch or think about grudge for several months.
Guide to setting up engravings
Super Charge or All-Out Attack : For builds that use it, 40% charge speed can't be ignored. It increases accuracy and survivability by lowering animation times.
Directional Attack Engravings: For builds that get majority damage from directional attacks, these provide high damage bonuses without further penalty.
Stabilized Status and Barricade : Tanky classes (Gunlancer, Artillerist) get full benefit from Stabilized Status most of the time. Barricade builds tend to use Protection runes on heavy damage skills to make sure they always get the bonus.
Precise Dagger and Adrenaline: Builds with low total crit from stats or class engravings. Crit chance is stronger the less of it you have. Click Precise Dagger on the chart screen to see its damage scaling.
Keen Blunt Weapon: On the other hand, for builds that stack crit, Keen Blunt Weapon is good if you can afford it. If not, you have other options for now (including ignoring crit and going spec + precise dagger until relic gear).
Mass Increase, Raid Captain: Builds with swiftness as the primary stat can use these three engravings. There is also Lightning Fury, but it requires fast, low cooldown skills on top of high swiftness.
Sight Focus: For builds that get most of their damage from a single skill (Surge blade, Destroyer), this is a great raw damage option.
Setting up the macro is done on ESC Settings Macro Text
Adrenaline and Ether Predator: When you only have room for a partial (level 1 or 2) engraving, these two (along with some class engravings) tend to be most efficient because their effects uniquely have linear scaling between levels.
Disrespect: As a last resort, now is the time to use Disrespect - the damage difference isn't as severe while the engraving limit from gear is still low. Boss mechanics tend to get harder when they're on low life anyway.
Caution
Because they're "additive" with each other, don't combine Mass Increase with Cursed Doll or a high level Ether Predator.
Check Precise Dagger's damage scaling chart, you don't want to use it if you get a lot of crit from other sources.
Spirit Absorption increases action speed without lowering cooldowns to match. This can lead to downtime where all skills are on CD. (Swiftness stat affects both speed and cooldown times).
